A book signing with author Marsha Gordon will follow the screening and discussion. Gordon will be joining her former co-panelist from WUNC’s “Movies on the Radio,” Laura Boyes, for this special celebratory screening of Douglas Sirk’s “There’s Always Tomorrow,” based on a story written by the once famous, now forgotten best-selling author Ursula Parrott. Following the screening they will discuss Gordon’s new book, “Becoming the Ex-Wife: The Unconventional Life and Forgotten Writings of Ursula Parrott.” Copies of Gordon’s book will be available for purchase.
Marsha Gordon is Professor of Film Studies at North Carolina State University, a recent Fellow at the National Humanities Center, and an NEH Public Scholar. She is the author of numerous books and articles, and co-director of several short documentaries. For seven years Marsha contributed to a monthly show, “Movies on the Radio,” with Laura Boyes and Frank Stasio, on 91.5/WUNC’s “The State of Things.” She regularly introduces films, gives lectures, and participates in panels all over the United States and Europe.
